About Report Views

A report view is a template of the parameters you use to generate a report. Without a report view, you would have to specify the parameters of a report every time you want to generate it. With a report view, those parameters are saved so that you can quickly generate a report, based on the latest available data for your selected time period. You can save up to 10 report views per report type.

To create a report view:

  1. Click the Reports tab.

  2. Select the report and parameters (for example, Tactic, Channel, etc.) for the report view.

  3. Click the Save Report View button. The Save Report View dialog box opens.

  4. Type a unique report view name.

  5. Click the Save button.

To edit or delete a saved report view:

  1. Click the Reports tab and then the Saved Report Views subtab.

  2. To delete a report view:

    1. Find the name of the report view and then click its corresponding Delete link.

    2. When prompted, confirm that you want to delete the report view.

  3. To edit a report view:

    1. Find the name of the report view and then click its corresponding Edit link.

    2. Specify the report parameters that you want to save with the report view:

      • Report view name: Specify a name that is unique from previously saved report views, unless you want to replace an existing report view with the one you are currently saving.

      • Make default: Select whether or not you want the report view to be the default view for its report type.

      • Schedule saved report views: Select whether or not you want reports based on this report view to run automatically.

      • Send an email with the report attached: If you are receiving a scheduled report via email, select the frequency for sending the report.

      • Attach report as: If you are receiving a scheduled report via email, select the file format for the report. That format should be based on the application you use to view reports.

      • Date range for report data: If you are receiving a scheduled report via email, select the time period on which to base the generated report.

    3. Click the Save button.

To open a report based on a report view:

  1. Click the Reports tab.

  2. Select the name of the report view you want to use in the Saved Report View box. The page refreshes to display the report based on the selected report view.

Scheduling Reports Based on Report Views

When you edit a report view, you can specify options to automatically generate reports based on that view and to have those reports emailed to you as file attachments. The reports are based on the time period you select when editing the report view. The system sends the email to the email address you have specified as part of your preferences. You can verify this email address on the Preferences page.

Note: If reports are larger than 1MB, they cannot be emailed to you as file attachments. The system instead sends an email notifying you of the problem and providing guidance on how to generate the report from within the application.

To schedule reports to be emailed to you:

You can schedule reports when you edit a report view, as described in the About Report Views section above. When editing the report view, be sure to specify the properties for receiving the report via email.
