The settings on this page guide how tune-up tries to determine the best daily spending limit for your campaign, and the best bids and match types for your Sponsored Search keywords.
Opening the "Define Tune-up Guidelines for Campaign" page
When configuring and initiating tune-up, the settings you need to define in this page comprise workflow step #2.
To open the Define Tune-up Guidelines for Campaign page
Click the Campaigns tab.
In the campaign list, click the name of the campaign you want to tune up.
In the Campaign details page, click Tune Up Campaign.
In the Campaign Tune-up page, after deciding whether or not to save settings for your current campaign, click the Tune Up Campaign button.
The Define Tune-up Guidelines for Campaign page summarizes your campaign’s spending and other performance metrics for the last month. Consult this information to help you decide how to configure your campaign’s tune-up.
To set tune-up guidelines
In the Select a Business Metric for Optimization field, choose the performance measure you want tune-up to evaluate and optimize. Your choices include:
Impressions
Clicks
Conversions
Revenue
Note: To see the Conversions or Revenue options, you must implement data collection tags on your web site. See the next section to learn more.
In the Enter a Monthly Budget for Sponsored Search field, either:
accept the default value, which reflects your spend over the last month, or
type in a different monthly budget for Sponsored Search.
Click Next.
If the Conversion and Revenue Options are Unavailable
Data collection tags are either:
disabled for your account, or
enabled for your account, but your optimization settings exclude conversions, revenue, or both from the analysis.
If you want to tune for conversions or revenue, you must configure your account to collect the data, and then embed data collection tags in your site’s web pages.
To enable conversions or revenue as performance metrics
Set up data collection tags as follows:
Enable and configure analytics for your account. From the Administration tab, click Analytics.
Use controls in the Analytics Settings page to copy and configure custom data collection tags. On the Optimization Settings tab, make sure you select the appropriate options to include conversions and revenue data.
Once defined, embed these tags into appropriate pages on your web site.
