Use the Block Domains page to block your ads from domains or subsections of domains where you don't want your ads to appear. Domain blocking applies to both Sponsored Search and Content Match, and you can block up to 500 domains at the account level.
About the Blocked Domains Feature
You might decide that you do not want your ads to appear on certain domains. For example, you might have a music-related product for rock enthusiasts and want to ensure that your ad won't appear on certain domains that apply to only classical music enthusiasts. You could then block the classical music domains so that your ads will not appear on those blocked domains.
Formatting Rules for Blocking Domains
When you block domains, you must follow certain formatting rules for the domains to be blocked correctly. Refer to the topic Blocked Domains Formatting Rules for a description of these formatting rules. You should review this topic so that you further understand how to submit domains for blocking and what limitations to consider when determining domains to block.
To block a domain:
Click the Administration tab > Accounts subtab.
If you have a single account, the Account Summary page opens.
If you have multiple accounts, the Accounts page opens. Click an account link to open the Account Summary page for the appropriate account.
Under the Account General Information panel, click the Submit Domains link in the Blocked Domains field. The Block Domains page opens.
In the Enter Domain Addresses to Block field, type the domain that you want to block. Each domain must be on a separate line (press the Enter key to start a new line). Refer to the topic Blocked Domains Formatting Rules for a description of formatting rules when entering domains.
Enter up to 500 domains to block. There are two counters in the top right corner of the field to help you keep track of your total blocked domains. One counter shows you how many domains you currently have blocked for the account, and the other shows you how many you have remaining that you can submit to be blocked.
Click Submit to save the blocked domains.
If there are errors, the system summarizes them so that you can make any necessary changes. If there are no errors, a confirmation box opens to summarize your activity. Click OK to finish.
To block multiple domains at once:
To block multiple domains at once, you follow the same procedure as for blocking a single domain except that you can specify up to a total of 500 blocked domains at the account level. Enter each domain on a separate line, pressing the Enter key to start a new line. If you have a list of domains to block in another source (for example, if you keep a list in a text file), you can copy the domains from the other source and paste them into the Enter Domain Addresses to Block field. Be sure that the domains meet the formatting rules described in the topic Blocked Domains Formatting Rules.
